NLC/TUC PUT STRIKE ON HOLD

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have temporarily called off the indefinite nationwide strike, initially scheduled to begin, after the Federal Government requested a one-week suspension to facilitate negotiations on the national minimum wage. The unions had previously rejected the proposed minimum wage of N60,000, and will now engage in discussions with the tripartite committee to explore alternative options.”

Based on the foregoing,  the leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), under the aegis of Comrade (Prince) Dr Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HFCPSP, has directed all its members in MWUN to immediately return to work with immediate effect.
