MASPAN, AMANO Hail MWUN’s Adeyanju for Outstanding Leadership
The Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN) and the Alumni of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO) have commended the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and its leadership, headed by Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, for their invaluable support during the successful MASPAN-AMANO 2024 Conference. The event, themed ‘Drugs, Human Smuggling & Trafficking: The Evolving Maritime Security Threats to Ships & Seafarers,’ aimed to address the rising spate of drug and human trafficking through the seas, jeopardizing the safety and security of the shipping industry.
The Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN), in collaboration with the Alumni of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO), extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Adewale Adeyanju for his exemplary leadership and vision in combating drug trafficking, human smuggling, and other illicit activities within Nigeria’s maritime sector. His tireless efforts have significantly contributed to creating a safer and more secure environment, earning him well-deserved recognition from stakeholders in the industry.
Comrade Francis Bunu, Deputy President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, was commended for his uplifting goodwill message, which resonated with participants at the occasion. As a distinguished seafarer, his steadfast support and pioneering work have greatly advanced the interests of Nigerian seafarers, earning him well-deserved recognition within the maritime community.
Prince Adeyanju, Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Vice President Global of the International Transport Workers Federation, played a key role as the Special Guest at a recent event focused on combating maritime security threats. The occasion, jointly organized by MASPAN and AMANO, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug trafficking, human smuggling, and trafficking within Nigeria’s maritime sector. These illicit activities not only harm individuals but also undermine the country’s economic and social well-being.
The event’s success was capped off with MASPAN and AMANO reaffirming their unwavering support for Prince Adeyanju, President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, and pledging to continue backing the union’s efforts.
