PEACE RETURNS TO AGWA CLAN AS POLICE TAKE CONTROL
The Nigerian Police have returned to Agwa clan in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, following a period of withdrawal due to security concerns. With a strong presence, the police are issuing warnings to miscreants to leave the area or face consequences. A senior officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, emphasized the police’s commitment to restoring peace in Agwa and its surroundings.
The officer stressed the importance of community leaders engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, as security is a collective responsibility. He highlighted the need for a robust partnership between the police and the host community to ensure the success of community policing.
With the mandates of the Inspector General of Police and the Imo Commissioner of Police, the police are urging all Agwa sons and daughters, both at home and abroad, to be rest assured that their safety is guaranteed.
The police commissioner has pledged that his officers are committed to restoring peace and order in Agwa, which has been plagued by crises for years. This renewed effort aims to bring about a sense of security and stability, allowing the community to thrive.
The villages in Agwa clan are expressing gratitude to God and the Nigerian Police (NP) for the restoration of peace in the area. They are praying for the sustainability of the peace, hoping that Agwa will return to its former state.
According to a clan spokesman, who preferred to remain anonymous, the presence of the Nigerian Police has brought about a significant change. The spokesman noted that the police have implemented stringent measures, which have led to the departure of criminal elements, commonly referred to as “bad boys,” from the town.
