STAKEHOLDERS LAUD AC IBRAHIM PERFORMANCE AT FOT GATE

The critical maritime stakeholders at eastern ports, particularly the Onne Customs Command, have praised Assistant Comptroller Mr. M. Ibrahim for his outstanding performance at the FOT GATE Area 2 unit. Since taking over from DC K.R. Usman in December 2024, Mr. Ibrahim has demonstrated exceptional leadership in anti-smuggling activities, compliance, security, and revenue generation – the core mandates of the service.

Maritime experts and personalities have commended his achievements, noting that under his leadership, the unit has made significant recoveries from non-compliant traders who exploit fiscal policies and evade revenue. These efforts have effectively blocked revenue leakages and substantially increased the command’s revenue.

Prominent stakeholders praising Assistant Comptroller M. Ibrahim include Mr. Chidera Oganuzor, MD of Odest Global Resources Ltd (Bonded Terminal), Chief Charles Onyebuchi, CEO of Chardon Global Services West Africa Ltd, Mr. Chinedu Ikenga, General Manager of Prestige Associates Ltd (Bonded Terminal) and former General Secretary of ANLCA, Onne,  Hon. Ike Okechukwu Anselem, former Chairman of NAGAF, Onne Chapter, Mr. Kolawole Atanda, Chairman of APFFLON, Onne Chapter.

In separate interviews with National Alert Magazine, they praised Assistant Comptroller Ibrahim’s performance. Undoubtedly, Assistant Comptroller Ibrahim is a dedicated and courageous officer who carries out his duties with professionalism and diligence, adhering to the directives of Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) Mr. Mohammed Babandede. He strictly complies with federal government fiscal policies on importation and exportation of goods at the port.

Notably, Ibrahim is a team player who has effectively prevented numerous irregularities through active collaboration with his team members, even within a short span at the unit. His commitment to excellence is evident, and even his critics would attest to his achievements.
