Dockworkers ABTML Unit Officially Inaugurated
The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), through its Dockworkers Branch, has formally inaugurated a new unit at the Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTML) in Apapa, Lagos.
The ceremony took place at the Union’s National Secretariat, located at 119 Osho Drive, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, and was attended by Union leaders, including representatives from the Seafarers’ branch, who showed support for the new ABTML unit.
The newly elected officers of the unit are as follows
Chairman: Comrade Adebayo Ayodele
Vice Chairman: Chibuzor Uruakpa
Secretary: Ganiyu Olumuyiwa
Assistant Secretary: Sunday John
Treasurer: Samuel O. Bassey
Organizing Secretary: Destiny Oliseh
Assistant Organizing Secretary: Chigozie Nwabani
Ex-Officio: Chukwudi Obialor
During the event, the MWUN leadership urged the new executive members to maintain exemplary conduct both during and after work hours, emphasizing that their behavior reflects not only on themselves but also on the Union as a whole. They were encouraged to remain dedicated and responsible in all aspects of their duties.
The Union congratulated the new officers and reminded them of the importance of upholding the Union’s reputation at all times.
