Ogun 1 Customs Command’s Revenue Soars from N12m to N77m monthly, thanks to CGC’s Leadership and Strategic Reforms.

The Nigerian Customs Command(NCS), Ogun 1 command has achieved a significant revenue boost, increasing its monthly earnings from N12 million to N77 million per month.

Comptroller James Ojo attributed this substantial growth to the effective leadership and strategic guidance of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), who has implemented reforms and initiatives that have greatly enhanced the Command’s revenue collection capabilities.

Comptroller Ojo stated that the command has made significant strides in anti-smuggling activities, seizures, and revenue generation without recording any casualties.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and community engagement in achieving these results.

The command has also improved its relationship with the bordering communities, with Comptroller Ojo meeting with traditional rulers and stakeholders to address concerns and promote cooperation.

Comptroller Ojo noted that rice importation remains banned through the land border, in line with federal government policies aimed at promoting local rice production.

He praised the CGC’s leadership, citing improved welfare, timely salary payments, and promotions as key motivators for officers.

Comptroller Ojo also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold steps, urging patience as the measures are expected to yield positive results for the country.
