….Says No Delay For Compliant stakeholders
Comptroller Dera Nnadi, the Customs Area Controller of Tin Can Island Port Command, met with stakeholders to discuss new expectations for daily business operations within the Command. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and efficient service delivery, encouraging stakeholders to work together to ensure seamless operations.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) is reinforcing his 2024 theme, “A Year for Stakeholders,” by prioritizing the well-being of everyone doing business in the area command. As the year enters its final quarter, he expressed gratitude for efforts made to meet revenue targets and emphasized the importance of compliance, stressing that teamwork will ensure success.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) reiterated the challenges stakeholders face during the peak ember season, particularly towards year-end. He assured compliant traders that genuine declarations will not experience delays. However, he warned that attempts to circumvent the system will not be tolerated, stressing that cutting corners will result in consequences.
The CAC, ensured that newly established bonded terminals within the port have allocated space for stakeholders to conduct their business. However, he acknowledged that the headquarters lacks similar facilities and pledged to address this issue amidst ongoing renovations.
Nnadi emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, urging stakeholders to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings tidy until new trash bins are installed in designated areas. He stressed that a clean environment contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
The CAC gave room for questions, which he answered and promised that all issues raised will be looked into with the PROs of the stakeholders urgently.
