COMPTROLLER  DERA BAGS TWO AWARDS AT CGC’S AWARD NIGHT 

The Tincan Island Port Command of Nigeria Customs Service, led by Area Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni, has been recognized with two prestigious awards at the CGC Award Night Ceremony held on November 29, 2024, in Abuja.

Comptroller Nnadi received an Award for Distinctive Performance and another Award of Excellence for Workplace Transformation, acknowledging his exceptional leadership and dedication to delivering on the command’s mandates.

The awards, were presented to him by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, recognised the command for its various  achievements,  transformation, and innovative solutions to ensure trade facilitation. Specifically, the awards cite the command’s distinctive performance and workplace transformation.

Under Comptroller Nnadi’s leadership, the command has achieved remarkable milestones, including generating N1.2 trillion in revenue as of November 2024. Additionally, the command successfully remodeled the Tincan Island Port administrative building, which was over 40 years old.
Comptroller Nnadi attributed the command’s successes to teamwork, commitment, focus, and dedication, expressing gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his support.

He further described the award as a call for increased commitment and a challenge to sustain and improve on the pace of work at the command .

Comptroller Dera, also urged  Business men and women at the Tincan island port to take advantage of the Trade modernisation project initiatives of the Comptroller General of Customs,  Adewale Adeniy MFR, to ensure the use of technology at the port, Trade facilitation and paperless port procedures.

The CAC admonished officers of the command to see the awards as a motivation and challenge to work harder.
