OLADEJI HANDS OVER WITHOUT PRESS FUNFAIR

The newly appointed Controller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, Ikeja, Comptroller MS Shuaibu, has called on officers and men of the unit to support and cooperate with him in achieving the mandate set by the Comptroller General of the Service. During his taking-over ceremony, Comptroller Shuaibu emphasized the opportunity for the unit to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against smuggling, as envisioned by the Comptroller General.

“I am honored by the opportunity granted to us by the Almighty Allah and the Comptroller General to lead this unit, and I pray that God guides us throughout our tenure,” he said. Comptroller Shuaibu expressed his intention to leverage the outgoing Unit Controller’s experience, stating, “Although I am taking over, I will be reaching out to you from time to time to tap into your wealth of knowledge.” He then charged the officers with the significant task ahead, emphasizing the need for cooperation and support, saying, “The workload ahead requires our collective effort and collaboration. Let’s work together to achieve our objectives.”

In his farewell address, Comptroller Oladeji, the outgoing Controller, expressed unwavering confidence in the capabilities of his successor. He thanked the Comptroller General and the unit’s officers for their support and collaboration during his tenure, which spanned over a year. Comptroller Oladeji then announced his impending departure to Abuja, where he would take up new responsibilities.

The new Controller has a masters degree in environmental studies and also undertaking his doctoral degree. He hails from Lafia, in Nassarawa state.

In a separate development, the former Controller of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone B, handed over to Comptroller Alkali in a well-attended ceremony in Kaduna. Notably, this handover function drew a larger audience compared to the one held at FOU Zone A, which had limited press coverage.
