Tincan Command Honours 187 Officers, Records Historic N159 Billion Revenue in August

The Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has set a new revenue record, announcing a remarkable N159 billion collection in August 2025 — the highest monthly revenue ever recorded by the Command.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Tincan Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, revealed this achievement during a ceremony held on Wednesday to formally decorate 187 officers who were recently promoted within the service.

“In August, we hit ₦159 billion — a figure we’ve never reached before,” an enthusiastic Comptroller Onyeka stated.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, he acknowledged their contributions to the Command’s success, saying, “Everyone here has played a role in this achievement. But remember, to whom much is given, much is expected.”

For those who did not make the promotion list, Onyeka offered words of encouragement: “Not being promoted now isn’t the end of the road. Count your blessings — your time will come.”

He also appealed to stakeholders and the media to continue supporting the national interest through fair and accurate reporting. Onyeka extended special gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for recognizing officers’ dedication and facilitating the promotions.

Emphasizing the importance of a positive attitude, he urged officers to find joy in their service:
“I’m a happy man today. Wherever you find yourself, be happy. Give thanks and count your blessings. It’s not all about money — happiness matters too.”

With a historic revenue milestone and a wave of promotions, August 2025 marks a turning point for the Tincan Island Port Command, highlighting the alignment of hard work and advancement.
