SIFAX Group Offers Free Dental Care to 100+ Ibadan Residents.

More than 100 traders and residents of New Gbagi Market in Ibadan have benefited from free dental consultations, preventive oral healthcare services and basic medical screenings through a community outreach sponsored by SIFAX Group.

The initiative was organised in partnership with the University of Ibadan Association of Dental Students (UADS) under its Committee on Dental Education and Health (CODEH), with the aim of improving access to oral healthcare among underserved communities.

Held on July 25, the outreach attracted about 130 registrants, with 101 participants receiving comprehensive dental consultations. Beneficiaries also underwent free blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index (BMI) checks, while 30 individuals requiring further dental care received professional scaling and polishing.

The programme reflects SIFAX Group’s continued commitment to community health initiatives and efforts to make quality healthcare more accessible to vulnerable populations.

One of the key features of the event was an interactive oral health education session conducted in both English and Yoruba by a final-year dental student. Participants were shown proper tooth-brushing techniques and had the opportunity to ask questions about maintaining good oral hygiene.

The scaling and polishing procedures were performed by final-year dental students under the supervision of six qualified dentists, with organisers ensuring strict adherence to infection control and patient safety standards. All patients reportedly expressed satisfaction with the care provided.

Traders and market leaders praised SIFAX Group and the student organisers for bringing free oral healthcare services directly to the market, describing the outreach as timely and beneficial to the community.

UADS also thanked SIFAX Group for sponsoring the initiative, noting that the company’s support enabled the provision of free dental consultations, preventive treatment and oral health education to residents who may otherwise have limited access to such services.

The association said it looks forward to continuing its partnership with SIFAX Group during a second mega dental outreach planned for Aleshinloye Market in September, as part of ongoing efforts to increase oral health awareness beyond conventional clinical settings.
