Apapa Customs Sets New Single-Day Revenue Record of ₦28.1bn
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has achieved a new revenue milestone, generating ₦28,102,000,914.61 in a single day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The figure represents the highest single-day revenue collection ever recorded by the Command, surpassing its previous record of ₦20.1 billion, achieved in September 2025, shortly after Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba assumed office as Customs Area Controller (CAC).
The latest feat comes barely weeks after the Command recorded an unprecedented ₦323 billion in monthly revenue in July 2026, highlighting the sustained impact of ongoing reforms, improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-led operations and the growing efficiency of digital Customs processes.
Speaking on the development, Comptroller Oshoba said the achievement goes beyond revenue figures, stressing that the Customs Service plays a significant role in strengthening Nigeria’s economy and improving the wellbeing of its citizens.
According to him, revenue generated by the Service contributes to government resources used to fund critical sectors, including infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services that directly affect the lives of Nigerians.
Oshoba dedicated the milestone to the government and people of Nigeria, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD, and the management of the Service for their continued support for modernisation, automation and reforms aimed at making Customs operations more efficient, transparent and business-friendly.
The CAC also appreciated the cooperation of compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders, as well as patriotic Nigerians who provide actionable intelligence that supports the Service’s operations.
He emphasised that every compliant transaction contributes to national development, urging stakeholders to continue supporting legitimate trade. He noted that a stronger revenue base provides government with greater capacity to meet the needs of citizens while creating an enabling environment for businesses to grow.
Comptroller Oshoba also charged officers and men of the Command to remain focused and avoid complacency, describing the new record as a responsibility to deliver even better results.
He stressed that revenue collection must go hand in hand with trade facilitation, professionalism, transparency and respect for stakeholders. He further directed personnel to resolve legitimate disputes promptly and ensure that Customs procedures do not unnecessarily impede lawful businesses.
Under the leadership of Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, the Apapa Area Command remains committed to sustaining its revenue performance through improved trade facilitation, professionalism, stakeholder engagement and efficient Customs processes.
The Command reaffirmed that every legitimate revenue collected strengthens the government’s ability to fund development priorities and improve the quality of life of Nigerians.
