Powerful Pen Media Chapel of NUJ Gears Up for 2025 Press Week
The Powerful Pen Media Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has finalized arrangements for its 2025 Press Week, scheduled to take place over two days—Wednesday, August 27, and Thursday, August 28, 2025—at No. 19 Calcutta Crescent, Apapa, Lagos.
The event, thoughtfully designed around the theme “The Role of the Media in National Development,” will highlight the importance of developmental journalism, ethical reporting, and its impact on national security.
Prominent figures from the maritime industry will also address pressing issues related to port operations, with a particular focus on the integration of technology for more efficient processes.
As maritime journalists, the Press Week will provide a valuable platform to evaluate the operations of agencies within the port corridors and examine traffic management along port access routes.
Additional features of the event include poetry recitals, a singing contest, and other engaging activities.
Please note that the opening day, Wednesday, August 27, is reserved exclusively for chapel members and is not open to the public. It will involve member arrivals, registration, and an internal meeting to assess the Chapel’s progress since its formation.
The main event will take place on Thursday, August 28, starting at 11:00 a.m., and will be open to invited guests and the general public.
We invite all our esteemed stakeholders in the maritime industry to lend their support as we continue contributing to the growth and advancement of Nigeria’s maritime sector. Together, we can build a stronger nation.
